Real, living Spanish — taught live by a native Argentine teacher —
for intermediate learners who freeze the moment a real person speaks fast.
Only 6 founding seats · Live cohort starts the week of August 4
How the Founder Cohort works
This is an 8-week live cohort — small and personal, just 6 people. You get the full Español en Ruta course to work through at your own pace, plus live sessions where you actually train your ear and your tongue with me in real time. That's the part videos can't give you.
Español en Ruta steps:
- The complete course — 4 modules, 20 lessons, intercultural lessons and Quizzes, yours to keep and learn at your pace
- 6 live "conversation tables" — real speech practice with a native teacher, where the real progress happens
- 1 private 1-on-1 session with me, focused on exactly where you get stuck
- A private cohort community (WhatsApp + Telegram) — ask anything, any day

But... who am I to teach you?

Hi, I'm Matías — a native Argentine Spanish teacher. I help people who already studied finally understand and connect with real speakers.
My mission is simple: get you past textbook Spanish and into the real, living language people actually speak.
Although Spanish is my native language, I have also been on the other side. I learned English, Portuguese and French from scratch. So I know exactly what it feels like to study hard, know the rules, and still freeze when a native opens their mouth.
From my own experience, I developed a method built around real interaction — understanding fast speech, responding naturally, and sounding human instead of like a grammar book.
For years I've helped students from all over the world stop translating in their heads and start actually speaking. That's the only thing this program does — and it does it well.
I designed this program for you...
This program is a PERFECT fit for you if:
You want to understand and connect with real Spanish speakers — not just pass another test.
You already have an intermediate foundation (B1–B2) and want to break past it.
You’re tired of memorizing grammar and want to learn useful, real-life Spanish instead.
You want to feel human and natural when you speak — not like a walking textbook.
You’re motivated and ready to level up your Spanish skills in a practical, guided way.
This program is NOT a fit for you if:
You are a complete beginner (A1) and still need to build the foundations from scratch.
You are happy with the Spanish skills you have and don't think there is more to study.
You expect to learn passively, by watching videos without ever speaking.
You only want grammar drills and don’t care about using Spanish in real-life situations.
You just want a few survival phrases for a 2-week holiday, nothing deeper.
So... how will my program impact you?
Before you complete this program:
Frustrated because fluency in Spanish still feels out of reach?
Embarrassed when you try to speak but can’t find the right words?
Lost the moment a native speaks fast, uses slang, or talks at their real rhythm?
After you've completed this program:
You will understand real, fast speech — slang and all — instead of only slow classroom Spanish.
You will respond naturally, in the moment, without translating in your head first.
You will sound human and confident — like yourself — not like a walking grammar book.
What you'll work through: 4 modules, 20 lessons
Four modules that take you from arrival to real cultural
connection — at your own pace, with live sessions to practice each one.

MODULE 1 - 5 LESSONS
When they ask, and you have to answer
Real Spanish starts the moment someone fires a question at you and waits — an officer, a new friend, a stranger who talks fast. This module trains you to narrate what you've already done and respond in the moment, without translating in your head first. You'll absorb the past tenses (indefinido, imperfecto, pluscuamperfecto) not as drills, but as the tools to tell your own story the way a native does — not the way a textbook does.
Lesson 1 — Getting your documents ready: organize and talk about travel paperwork and what you've already sorted out (past tense: indefinido).
Lesson 2 — Packing smart: give and ask for real advice on what to pack and why (imperfecto).
Lesson 3 — At the check-in counter: handle airline staff, excess baggage and special requests without freezing (pluscuamperfecto).
Lesson 4 — Immigration & customs: answer an officer's questions and explain your trip with confidence (contrasting all three past tenses).
Lesson 5 — During the flight: deal with the unexpected and make polite requests to the crew (conditional).
Module 1 Quiz — check what you've really absorbed.
Culture — Real Mexican Spanish: how Mexicans actually speak — slang, customs and expressions no textbook teaches ("ahorita", "órale", and the rest).

MODULE 2 - 5 LESSONS
When everyone talks at once
Landing somewhere new is the first real test: people talk over each other, fast, and expect you to keep up and reply. Here you learn to follow the rhythm, ask what you actually need, and sort out problems out loud — calmly, like a person who belongs there. The everyday structures (reflexives, ser/estar/hay, the imperative) lock in so they come out automatically, not after a pause.
Lesson 1 — From the airport to the centre: ask about transport options, prices and routes, and pick your way into the city (reflexive verbs: "me tomo un taxi").
Lesson 2 — Hotel check-in: register, confirm your booking and ask about your room and services (hay vs. ser vs. estar).
Lesson 3 — When things go wrong: make a polite complaint and negotiate a room change or a fix — calmly, in Spanish (formal/informal imperative: "pida" / "pedí").
Lesson 4 — Getting around the city: ask for and give clear directions, and figure out public transport (verbal periphrases: "tener que" / "hay que" + infinitive).
Lesson 5 — Arrival stories: tell anecdotes about your first days somewhere new, contrasting what you expected with what happened (imperfecto vs. indefinido).
Module 2 Quiz — check what you've really absorbed.
Culture — Real Spanish from Spain: how they actually speak in Spain — "vosotros", slang, customs and the rhythm that trips up Latin-American learners.

MODULE 3 - 5 LESSONS
Sounding like you belong, not like a tourist
This is where you stop reading off the menu and start talking like a local — saying what you like, what's better, what you'd rather do, and being understood the first time. You'll move through real exchanges with confidence while object pronouns, comparatives and relative clauses do the quiet work underneath, so your Spanish sounds natural instead of assembled.
Lesson 1 — At the restaurant: order food and drink, understand the waiter, and express what you actually like — naturally (direct & indirect object pronouns: "Le pedí al mozo la cuenta").
Lesson 2 — At the market or shop: ask about prices, haggle for a discount, and compare what's better or worse (comparatives & superlatives).
Lesson 3 — Doing the tourist thing: ask about hours, prices, tours and excursions, and book them (relative clauses: que, quien, donde).
Lesson 4 — Finding your way: give and follow directions using landmarks and map apps, describing routes in detail (simple & near future).
Lesson 5 — A full day in the city: put it all together — narrate and plan a complete day on a budget (review and application of everything).
Module 3 Quiz — check what you've really absorbed.
Culture — Real Argentine Spanish: how Argentines actually speak — che, voseo, boludo, the rhythm and the slang. This is home turf.

MODULE 4 - 5 LESSONS
The hard moments, in real time
The toughest conversations are the ones you can't rehearse: something goes wrong, a misunderstanding lands, and you have to handle it on the spot. This module gets you expressing doubt, wishes and advice, and stitching the full story together when it counts — so when the moment comes, you deal with it in Spanish instead of freezing. The subjunctive, the connectors and reported speech come in as what makes that possible.
Lesson 1 — Medical emergencies: describe symptoms, ask for help and follow a doctor's instructions (present subjunctive: "Ojalá no esté grave").
Lesson 2 — Losing your documents: report a loss at the police or consulate and sort out replacements (past subjunctive + compound conditional: "Si hubiera perdido el pasaporte, habría llamado al consulado").
Lesson 3 — Culture shocks: ask about local customs and explain a misunderstanding respectfully (impersonal & passive "se").
Lesson 4 — Tech for travelers: sort out wifi, apps and roaming, and give your opinion clearly (discourse connectors: además, sin embargo, en mi opinión).
Lesson 5 — Travel that changes you: tell a personal story and reflect on how it shaped you, quoting what others said (reported speech).
Module 4 Quiz — check what you've really absorbed.
Culture — Real Peruvian Spanish: how they actually speak in Peru — slang, customs and regional differences from the Spanish you've heard so far.

Connect with locals and friends by using authentic expressions and cultural references that go far beyond typical textbook Spanish — language that real native speakers actually use.

Check out what my
students have to say!

Anna, Ireland
At the time of this review I've had half a dozen classes with Matias and I like the broad spectrum of methods used. He has also made me work outside the classes, but in a different way to many other teachers: find information yourself, analyse it, and present it back to him. This has allowed me to learn in a new way instead of being bombarded with handouts etc. I can recommend Matias.

Karen, USA
Matias employs a comprehensive approach based upon a solid educational methodology and challenging lessons that straddle conversation, writing, and listening / reading comprehension. He is particularly strong in the last area, where, by using transcription and summarizing lessons, he forces you to evolve your understanding from words / sentences to context-informed meaning. As a logic-based learner, I have found Matias has greatly helped me advance beyond a plateau where I had been stuck for years.

Joao, Brazil
I love working with Matias. He's punctual, professional and his lessons are engaging. In the 10 classes I've taken with him, I've been able to improve on the areas where I'm weakest and build up my confidence in actually speaking Spanish. I give him an A+++ :D

Tanya, UK
Matias is a great teacher - easy going and steady, he really inspires confidence in my ability to learn Spanish. The range of exercises and topics we discuss are also fully catered to what I need in my every day life!!!
